Toronto area Shoppers Drug Mart employees test positive for COVID-19

Four Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the GTA have reported COVID-19 cases among their staff this week.

According to Loblaws Ltd., on November 11 an employee at a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 4 Aggie Hogg Garden, confirmed to be positive on a presumptive coronavirus test. The last day the employee had worked was on November 7.

Another employee, this time at a Shoppers Drug Mart located 1400 Dupont Street, tested positive on a presumptive test for the virus. The employee had last worked on November 6.

In the GTA, a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 6975 Meadowvale Town Centre Circle in Mississauga, reported an employee testing positive on a presumptive test. They last worked on November 7.

In Toronto, an employee at a Shoppers Drug Mart located 2223 Bloor Street West tested positive for coronavirus on a presumptive test.  The last day they worked was on November 6.

Earlier this week, eight separate Shoppers Drug Mart locations reported several cases among their staff members across Toronto and the GTA.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
