Mississauga Shoppers Drug Mart employees test positive for COVID-19

Six Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto have reported COVID-19 cases among their staff the past few days, a slight bump compared to prior weeks.

According to parent company Loblaws Ltd., on March 11, an employee at the 1840 Eglinton Avenue West location was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on March 6.

The same day, an employee at the 579 Lakeshore Road East in Mississauga was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on March 8.

Two days later, on March 13, an employee at the 1070 Major Mackenzie Drive East location in Richmond Hill was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for the virus. They had last worked on March 5.

On March 13, an employee at 160 Main Street South in Brampton was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on March 8.

On March 13, an employee at 5998 Bathurst Street in North York was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for the virus. They had last worked on March 13.

The same day, on March 16, an employee at the 9275 Bayview Avenue location in Richmond Hill was reported to have tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on March 12.

Loblaws updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days in an effort for transparency.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
