Scarborough Shoppers Drug Mart employee tests positive for COVID-19

Six employees at several Shoppers Drug Mart locations in the Toronto area reported testing positive for COVID-19 in the last few days.

On January 20, two employees at a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 759 Mount Pleasant Road reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. The employees last worked on January 13 and 15.

That same day, two other employees at another Shoppers Drug Mart, 2355 Warden Avenue in Scarborough, reported testing positive on a presumptive test for the virus. They had last worked on January 8 and 10.

A Shoppers Drug Mart employee at 1840 Eglinton Avenue West reported testing positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19 and had last worked on January 10.

At the 2223 Bloor Street West location, a Shoppers Drug Mart employee reported testing positive for COVID-19 and had last worked on January 17.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
