Scarborough Shoppers Drug Mart employee tests positive for COVID-19

Four COVID-19 cases have been reported from employees at Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the GTA.

According to Loblaws, on December 17 an employee at a Shoppers Drug Mart, 3874 Bathurst Street, tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had last worked on December 9.

A Shoppers Drug Mart employee at 770 Lawrence Avenue West, tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had worked on December 8.

Another Shoppers Drug Mart, located at 2428 Eglinton Avenue East in Scarborough, reported an employee testing positive on a presumptive test for the virus. The last day they had worked was on December 7.

A case was also reported at the 1400 Dupont Street Shoppers Drug Mart location. The employee was found positive on a presumptive test and last worked on December 13.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
