Shake Shack is opening six new locations in Ontario this year — here's where

Shake Shack has taken Canada by storm since it made its debut in Toronto in 2024, and the chain is now expanding further across Ontario.
After spreading the smash burger magic to far corners of Ontario this summer with its brand-new food truck (which, at the time of publication, still has plenty of stops around the province left for this summer), U.S.-based burger chain Shake Shack is bringing their beloved burgers to even more locations in the province.
To be exact, the chain has committed to opening six new locations in the GTA within the next year, meaning that, by mid-2026, the GTA will be home to nine Shake Shack locations. There’s a true Toronto takeover on the horizon — or should we say, Shakeover?
The GTA expansion is already afoot, with the chain recently opening its fourth Ontario location at the brand-new Castlefield Kitchen Hub in mid-July, and the chain’s first location outside of Toronto proper due to open at Mississauga’s Square One Shopping Centre on Tuesday, Aug. 19, but there are an additional four locations still to come after that.
Coming down the pipes in the fall of 2025, Toronto can expect new Shake Shack locations at Yonge and Eglinton (40 Eglinton Ave. E.) and Vaughan Mills.
Later, in early 2026, locations at 556 King St. W., in the former location of Majesty’s Pleasure, and at Yonge and Bloor (765 Yonge St.) will also open their doors.
At present, the exact opening dates for the new Shake Shack locations have yet to be announced, but, according to Shake Shack Canada’s business director, Billy Richmond, there are even more Canadian locations on the horizon.
“The energy we’ve seen from Canadian guests since day one has been incredible,” Richmond says.
“This next chapter is about more than opening doors—it’s about showing up for the communities we serve. Our intention is to deliver high-quality dining experiences that stand the test of time, and this GTA expansion sets the stage for Shake Shack’s long-term success in Canada. With plans already in motion, we’re excited to bring the Shack experience to more cities across Canada in the near future.”

Which Canadian cities will Shake Shack call home next? That remains to be seen, but for now, you can visit the chain’s four Canadian locations in Toronto, on top of the new Square One location, which opens in under two weeks.
