Scarborough Shoppers Drug Mart employees test positive for COVID-19

Several Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the GTA have reported COVID-19 cases among their staff within a day.

According to Loblaw Ltd., five Shoppers Drug Mart locations reported cases among their staff members.

On November 18, an employee at a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 2428 Eglinton Avenue East in Scarborough tested positive on a presumptive test. They last worked on November 15.

A Shoppers Drug Mart located at 1780 Markham Road in Scarborough also reported an employee testing positive on a presumptive test. They had last worked on November 15.

In the northern GTA, a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 298 John Street in Thornhill also reported an employee testing positive on a presumptive test. They had last worked on November 14.

A Shoppers Drug Mart located at 3975 Jane Street in North York reported an employee testing positive on a presumptive test. They had last worked on November 13.

In Toronto’s west end, a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 3730 Lake Shore Boulevard West in Etobicoke reported an employee testing positive on a presumptive test. They had last worked on November 8.

In Tuesday’s update, two separate Shoppers Drug Mart locations also reported cases in the GTA.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases reported in stores by province within the last 15 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
