A GTA LCBO store has closed temporarily after multiple employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Three cases of the illness have been confirmed at the Woodside Square store location in Scarborough, at 1571 Sandhurst Circle.

In the most recent of the three, the LCBO was notified on May 11, and the staff member last worked on May 6.

For the prior cases at the same location, one instance was reported on May 10, where the employee last worked on April 29, and one was reported on May 6, where the employee last worked on May 2.

“As a precautionary measure and due to staffing restrictions,” the LCBO said the location will be closed to the public temporarily. The store underwent a deep cleaning on May 7, and additional cleaning is being arranged.

“Additional employees will be supported through self-isolation and monitoring for any symptoms,” the LCBO said.

“Public Health has not provided any directions or recommendations with respect to this location. This general notice is being provided out of transparency for customers who may have recently shopped at this location.”

In addition to these recently-reported GTA cases, an employee at the 420 Vansickle Road LCBO store St. Catharines has tested positive for the virus. The individual last worked on May 7, and the store was deep cleaned on May 9, with additional cleaning being arranged.

The location is currently closed and will reopen based on staff availability, the LCBO says.

In this case as well, the liquor store said Public Health has not provided any directions or recommendations at this time.

“We wish [the employee] a full and speedy recovery.”
