Royal Ontario Museum launches new after-hours party series

Jan 16 2020, 8:18 pm

It can be hard to get out there and enjoy your Friday nights when the weather outside is frightful, but the Royal Ontario Museum has got you.

ROM After Dark is taking over what used to be the museum’s Friday Night Live series, serving as the “after-hours bash for the creative and the curious” in Toronto.

Described as a channelling of creative energy and featuring curated music, visual arts, performances, and distinctive gastronomy, this series has been made for those looking to infuse their night out with meaning.

The first event in the new series will take place on Friday, January 24. Titled Lunar, the night will feature a celestial-themed celebration that will be — you guessed it — out of this world.

Soundscapes by NASA’s Artists in Residence will take guests to new dimensions, live performers will serve up awe-inspiring acts, and pop-up restaurants situated throughout the Museum will delight the senses.

Plus, there will be some meta venue-within-venue experiences, like a dedicated jazz lounge and a pop-up planetarium, offering interstellar worlds for exploration.

And of course, throughout the night, guests will tuck into cocktails and Ontario wine and craft cider.
