Residents asked to shelter in place due to gas leak in Toronto's east end

Toronto residents in the east end have been asked to “shelter in place” due to a reported gas leak.

On Monday, at 11:14 am, Toronto police said that a gas leak in the area of Carlaw Avenue and Eastern Avenue was reported.

They noted that the energy company, Enbridge, is on the scene.

Eastern Avenue has since been closed, as has Carlaw Avenue in both directions from Queen Street to Lake Shore Boulevard East.
