Casey was in an unusual situation, finding himself out of work after leading the Raptors to a franchise record 59-win season to lead the Eastern Conference. But the team crashed and burned against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, causing president Masai Ujiri to make a move.
The Raptors are still on the search to find a replacement for Casey, with San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Ettore Messina and Raptors assistant Nick Nurse emerging as the frontrunners.
