The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending Christmas in Canada

It looks like Canada could be home to a few very special guests over the holiday season — royal guests.

According to Sky News, a representative for the Royal Family has confirmed that Canada will be the Christmas destination for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son.”

After the news broke on Friday of the couple’s (and baby’s) plans to vacation in the great white north, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took to social media to welcome them.

“Prince Harry, Meghan, and Archie, we’re all wishing you a quiet and blessed stay in Canada,” Trudeau wrote on his Twitter account. “You’re among friends, and always welcome here.”

He wasn’t the only one to be excited about the trip. While it’s not confirmed where in the country the regal trio will be vacationing, Toronto Mayor John Tory didn’t waste any time letting them know Toronto was ready to receive them.

“Welcome to Canada,” he wrote the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, letting them know they’re always welcome in the city. “Maple Leafs and Raptors jerseys are awaiting Archie’s visit.”

The family is clearly already getting into the spirit of things, as on Friday, they also released a photo of Prince Harry in full Santa Claus regalia, as part of his work with the charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a group dedicated to supporting the children of men and women lost while serving with the British Armed Forces.

We’re happy wherever they choose to spend their time alone, as long as we get more photos of Archie.
