You can fly from downtown Toronto directly to Muskoka starting June 27

For those who need their dose of the great outdoors, there’s going to be a much easier (and quicker) way to get to Muskoka this summer.

Starting this Thursday, Porter Airlines will be flying to Muskoka Airport, which means you can get to the summer paradise in about 20 minutes of air time.

Operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Mondays between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Muskoka Airport, this seasonal service will run from June 27 to September 3.

Porter’s website lists the flights as costing $71 one-way and $115 return, which sounds pretty incredible considering you get to skip waiting in bumper-to-bumper traffic for three hours.

Connecting flights will be available via Toronto for numerous Porter destinations in the US and Canada.

“Muskoka is an inspiring destination that attracts travellers from near and far,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines, in a press release.

“This new route serves as a great opportunity to link Muskoka to our North American network.”

Travellers can soak up the area’s stunning scenery, including historic villages and the iconic Algonquin Park. Plus, there’s the opportunity to enjoy Georgian Bay. It’s no mystery that Muskoka is one of Ontario’s most beautiful gems.

As part of the visitor experience to Muskoka and surrounding areas, Explorers’ Edge, the region’s tourism organization, will also introduce a seasonal shuttle bus service at the airport to deliver Porter passengers to accommodations across the region.
