Police fine 14 people for attending large party in Scarborough

Toronto Police fined 14 people in Scarborough for attending a large house party, with one man arrested for an outstanding warrant.

On Tuesday, September 23, police were called to a house for “a noisy party in the Kingston Road and St. Clair Avenue East area” where there were approximately 50 people in attendance.

According the police, 14 Provincial Offence Notices under the Reopening Ontario Act for the charge Fail To Comply With A Continued Section 7.0.2 Order were given.

During the investigation, a man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to Halton Police Service.

In Ontario, indoor gatherings are limited to 10 people, with outdoors gatherings limited to 25, in order to reduce the spread of the virus.

People can be fined a minimum of $10,000 for hosting a party and attendees can be fined $750 each.
