A Peel police officer is accused of fraudulently claiming more than $5,000 from her employee benefits program, and has been suspended from her duties.

Const. Natalie King, who has worked with the police force for 13 years, is facing one count of fraud over $5,000, one count of forgery, and one count of uttering forged documents, according to a Thursday news release.

King has been suspended with pay while the case makes its way through the courts.

“Police officers are subject to the same laws as all members of the public. The allegations made against Constable King are serious and concerning for all of us at Peel Police,” Acting Chief Randy Patrick said.
