A 19-month-old child has died after being struck by a vehicle in Mississauga.

According to Peel Police, his mother was also rushed to hospital after the collision, which occurred on Wednesday evening.

Peel Police say they received a call at around 5:25 pm on August 12 to an apartment complex on Confederation Parkway and Paisley Boulevard in Mississauga.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of the complex where both the child and mother were struck.

A child suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital before he was pronounced dead, according to Peel Police.

Earlier this week, a three-year-old boy in Etobicoke was also struck and killed by a car after crossing the street with his father and older sister.

“Our condolences go out to the family and any extended members of family or friends,”  said Officer Sarah Patten in a video update.

Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact the Major Collision Bureau.
