North York pastor charged with sexually assaulting 11-year-old girl on "numerous occasions"

Toronto police have arrested a 61-year-old pastor following a sexual assault investigation.

According to police, between 2015 and 2017, while privately tutoring a then-11-year-old girl, the tutor allegedly sexually assaulted the girl on numerous occasions.

Police say on Thursday, November 28, the Sex Crimes –  Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) arrested Ki-Jin Kim of Toronto.

He was charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and invitation to sexual touching.

Police are concerned there may be other victims.

Ki-Jin Kim is currently a pastor at the North York Sansung Church, according to law enforcement.

From 1998 to 2001, he was also reportedly a Sunday School volunteer at the Young Nak Church located at 650 McNicoll Avenue.

Additionally, in 2004, he was an assistant pastor at the Manmin Presbyterian Church in Toronto.

He has also worked as a private tutor in Toronto.

Toronto police say sexual assault is any form of unwanted sexual contact. It includes, but is not limited to, kissing, grabbing, oral sex, and penetration.
