Toronto's most infamous McDonald's has officially closed

It’s a sad moment for those who enjoy a late-night nugget indulgence while gathering content for meme pages, because Toronto’s most infamous McDonald’s has closed.

The fast-food joint, situated at the intersection of King and Dufferin Streets, has quietly placed a sign on its door that says the location will be moving to 1100 King Street West.

The new location is slated to open in mid-December. Which means that Parkdale’s McDonald’s is soon to become Liberty Village’s McDonald’s, instead.

Earlier this year, the location installed blue lights to help prevent drug use inside the restaurant.

Friendly neighbourhood meme Instagram account Parkdale Life posted a video of the restaurant’s sign being carried away by a crane, as Phil Collins’ Against All Odds plays in the background.

And while it may not be against all of the odds that this spot wouldn’t last forever, it’s definitely a kick in the gut to know its time has already come and gone.
