5 of the top Toronto taco spots to order from on Cinco de Mayo

May 5 2020, 4:11 pm

It’s not every year that Cinco de Mayo and Taco Tuesday land on the same day.

But, while 2020 has not been offering up the best of the best so far, we can all revel in this one glorious moment in time.

Seriously, it’s ideal: a day celebrating queso, guacamole, burritos, and hot sauce, compounded with the weekly taco day rotation.

Odds are you may not have the fixin’s for a proper Mexican meal stocked up in your cupboards, but don’t fret. These spots — some of the city’s best — are offering takeout and delivery on this May 5, Cinco de Mayo, Taco Tuesday collaboration:

The chef will be demonstrating how to make El Catrin’s famous Tacos de Rajas Poblanos paired with margaritas!

Over the years, La Carnita has gone from being an independent taco shop to a taqueria chain with multiple outposts throughout the city, a location in Winnipeg and even one in the US. And for good reason; diners just can’t get enough of the spot’s epic tacos. This year, this spot is offering order-ahead service for food and booze pickup at the John Street location. On the menu are burritos, bowls, taco kits, street corn, and Margarita kits, too.
