Ontario will provide a COVID-19 modelling update on Thursday afternoon, as cases have been declining for a week.

The province says Dr. Adalsteinn Brown, the co-chairman of Ontario’s COVID-19 Science Advisory Table, will present the update.

Ontario has now been under a Stay at Home order for two weeks, and a lockdown since December 26. For the last week, the case count has been declining, with Wednesday’s 1,670 being the lowest count in over two months.

Earlier this month, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams has said in order for the restrictions to be lifted cases must be below 1,000 daily.

During the last update, it was projected that Ontario would reach 10,000 cases a day by February 8, at a growth rate of 3%.

The briefing will be at 3 pm.
