Ontario reports just over 140 new coronavirus cases, 41 in Toronto

The province has confirmed 148 new known cases of COVID-19 as of Friday morning, an increase since the day prior.

There are also no reported deaths and 116 resolved cases.

According to Health Minister Christine Elliot, the province has processed over 28,500 tests. Peel is reporting 72 new cases, 41 in Toronto and 13 in Ottawa

“Once again, every other public health unit is reporting five or fewer cases, with 12 units reporting no new cases,” said Elliot.

The cases are an increase compared to Thursday’s 132Wednesday’s 133Tuesday’s 112Monday’s 114, and Sunday’s 112. Saturday saw the same number of cases, 148, which is the highest daily case totals since July 24, when the province counted 195.

There has been a total of 42,834 coronavirus cases to date, with 38,741 resolved and 2,811 reported deaths.
