Ontario reporting 29 new coronavirus cases in schools

The Government of Ontario is reporting 29 more coronavirus cases in schools, bringing the total to 238 reported in the province.

In the September 25 update, 10 of the new cases are student-related, 10 are staff-related, and nine are unidentified.

The numbers are reported daily at 10:30 am on the province’s school and childcare centre coronavirus-tracking website.

Of the total cases, 40 are reported in several Toronto schools among students and staff.

Ottawa region schools share the highest amount of total reported confirmed cases with 70.

As for GTA schools 26 are reported from Brampton, 18 from Mississauga, and 11 from Oakville.

Two schools remain closed due to the growing increase in cases reported.

As for licensed child care centres, there are now 109 total confirmed cases, as well as 28 centres and 137 homes closed.

As the Government of Ontario has reported 409 new COVID-19 cases on Friday morning, cases continue to increase across the region.

In order to reduce the spread of COVID-19, Premier Doug Ford announced that social gatherings in Toronto, Peel, and Ottawa will be limited to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors.
