Ontario reports highest daily coronavirus totals since July

The province has confirmed 169 new known cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday morning, the highest daily case totals since July 24, when it counted 195.

There were no reported deaths.

According to Health Minister Christine Elliot, the province has processed over 28,600 tests, 100 more than the day before. Peel is reporting 46 new cases, 42 in Toronto, 30 in Ottawa and 19 in York Region.

“Locally, 28 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with 19 of them reporting no new cases,” said Elliot.

The cases follow a week that has seen daily totals stay over 100 including Friday’s 148Thursday’s 132, and Wednesday’s 133 reported cases.

There has been a total of 43,003 coronavirus cases to date, with 38,847 resolved and 2,811 reported deaths.
