Ontario to release coronavirus modelling data during second wave

Sep 30 2020, 1:01 pm

Ontario is set to release COVID-19 modelling data as the province enters it’s second wave of the pandemic.

On Wednesday, Adalsteinn (Steini) Brown, Dean of the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto, Matthew Anderson, President and CEO of Ontario Health, and Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Health, will present the modelling data at 10 am.

The news comes after Premier Doug Ford restricted the number of visitors to long-term care homes on Tuesday.

The province has also limited the number of people who can gather indoors to 10, and outdoors to 50.

The new restrictions come as the province enters it’s second wave — on Monday, 700 new cases were reported, the highest single-day numbers to date.

Ford will also provide an announcement at 1 pm from Queen’s Park with Williams and Health Minster Christine Elliot.
