This Niagara Falls day trip was named one of the best in the world

One of the best day trips in the world is just two hours away from Toronto.

According to TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards for Experiences, the Best of Niagara Falls Tour from Niagara-on-the-Lake is one of the top ranking day trips in the world.

“We’re excited to announce our first Travelers’ Choice awards for Experiences, according to feedback from the TripAdvisor community,” said Laurel Greatrix, Director of Communications for TripAdvisor, in a release. “Experiences are often the highlight of a trip, and a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture, or even explore your hometown.”

The award winners were determined using an algorithm that factored in business reviews, opinions, and popularity with travellers over the last year.

“The Canadian side of Niagara Falls offers some of the most impressive views of the iconic waterfalls, and this tour lets you admire the natural wonder from all angles,” writes TripAdvisor.

“Gaze out over the falls from the Skylon Tower, experience Journey Behind the Falls, and either sail beneath the falls on a Hornblower cruise (summer) or see the Butterfly Conservatory and Niagara’s Fury 4-D show (winter).”

The day trip starts with a pickup up at your hotel in Niagara Falls. The first stop is Skylon Tower, where visitors will ride the elevator to the observation deck and enjoy a view over American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls.

The tour then makes its way to Journey Behind the Falls. Visitors will be taken into the tunnels and will be able to explore the edge of the Horseshoe Falls from the lower observation deck.

Guests will also get a tour of along the Niagara River to he dramatic Whirlpool Rapids and walk through the Niagara Gorge to see the Niagara Parks Floral Clock.

Vancouver to Victoria and Butchart Gardens Tour by Bus was the only other Canadian experience to be included in TripAdvisor’s ranking.
