If you take a road trip to visit Niagara this August, the Falls might not be the only spectacular sight you see. You may just find it teeming with private jets, luxury cars, and scores of people who love them.
Back for its “most ambitious” year yet, the annual Niagara 5000 is taking over locations across Niagara-on-the-Lake for a weekend of celebrating the rarest and most awe-inspiring innovations in personal transport.
The annual festival, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the region each year, is designed to be the most exhilarating supercar and aviation showcase in North America,” says Alana Hurov, the festival’s Founder and CEO.
“Our goal is to create an experience that rivals the world’s top automotive events, attracts the most prestigious global brands, and shines a spotlight on Niagara as a luxury destination.”
They’re achieving that status by calling in some seriously high-profile sponsors, including Rolls-Royce, Bugatti and McLaren, securing appearances that will make any motorhead drool.
The real star of the show, though, is a Cirrus Vision Jet that’ll be on display for the second day of the festival, and is slated to fly VIP attendees to and from the Niagara region for events over the weekend.
It all starts on Thursday, Aug. 7, at Fallsview’s STK Steakhouse with a huge kick-off party which includes a lighting ceremony where the falls will be lit up in Rolls-Royce purple for the first time ever, and over 40 luxury sponsors will display their goods, including a selection of luxury cars and jets.

If you’re trying to budget this summer, the kick-off party, for which tickets are priced at a staggering $120 per person, may not be for you, but the Falls lighting is free and open to the public.
On Friday, Aug. 8, the Supercar Parade hits the streets at 9:30 a.m., drawing hundreds of rare and breathtaking supercars we mere mortals can only dream of driving to the streets of Niagara.
Also that day, in Queen Victoria Park, the free and public Supercar Festival runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with dozens of luxury vendors showing off their best rides.
If you’re in the mood for a real splurge, you can drop $350 for a ticket to the Aug. 9 Hangar Experience, where a private airport hangar is transformed into a luxurious lounge, featuring fine wine, gourmet cuisine and, yes, plenty of airplanes.
The whole festival runs from Aug. 7 to 9 across Niagara, and, if you’re currently working on your summer road trip itineraries, this is one sight you’ll want to hit the road for.
