A Newfoundland-themed store has opened in Toronto's west end

Dec 6 2018, 10:02 pm

West end, meet east coast.

The much-anticipated Newfoundland Store has officially opened in Toronto, and the goods look both endearing and delicious.

The new shop, which was opened by Newfoundland-born Craig Pike, (aka the owner of Craig’s Cookies) is stocked with all the Newfoundland products you need.

From knit wool socks and homegrown products to regional snacks and other locally-crafted goods, your east-coast desires rest here.

Located next door to Craig’s Cookies at 1537 Queen Street West, customers can find items like caramel logs, Jam Jams, the dressing spice savoury (which is Newfoundland’s fancy word for stuffing), and naval salt beef.

Additionally, the shelves are stocked with popular Newfoundland snacks like pineapple and birch bark flavoured Crush, and fries n’ gravy and roast chicken-flavoured Lay’s chips.

They also have sweets, including chocolate bars from Newfoundland-based chocolatiers.

The shop has only recently opened, which means there’s yet another sweet spot to find niche holiday gifts in the west end. This time, the items are ideal for the east-coaster in your life.

There’s just one pressing question: Do they have Vienna Sausages in stock?

You’ll have to stop by to find out.
