Multiple subway stations will be closed this weekend

If you have plans to travel on the TTC this weekend, take note — several subway stations will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, May 23, there will be no subway service on different portions of Line 1 between Eglinton and King stations due to installation and testing of the Automatic Train Control (ATC) signalling system.

According to the TTC, Summerhill, College, Dundas, Queen and King stations will be closed but all other stations will remain open for PRESTO fare sales and access to surface routes and Line 2.

To help riders, replacement shuttle buses will run between Eglinton and Union stations, stopping at each station along the route. Also, TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station.

And, on Sunday, there will be no subway service between Bloor-Yonge and St Andrew stations. College, Dundas, Queen, and King stations will be closed but all other stations will remain open for PRESTO fare sales and access to surface routes and Line 2.

Replacement shuttle buses will also be available.

On both days, in addition to the shuttles, the University side of Line 1 will be available as an alternative.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

“While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and ATC upgrades,” the transit commission said.
