6 movies and TV shows filming in Toronto this March

Hello March!

Well Toronto, winter may be here to stay a little while longer it seems. But even though it’s cold outside, don’t let that stop you from getting out and about in Toronto this month to try and catch the cameras rolling.

You just never know when you might catch a glimpse of your favourite TV show or movie filming on location right here in the GTA — bright lights, cameras, and all your favourite characters live in and action.

Here are six movies and TV shows to catch filming in Toronto this March.

Nightmare Alley

A new feature film to set up shop in Toronto is Nightmare Alley, which is filming in the city until mid-March. The new movie is said to be an adaptation of the 1946 novel written by William Lindsay Gresham. The project will bring names like Bradley  Cooper, Cate Blanchett, and Michael Shannon to town — so be on the lookout. Just recently the movie was spotted filming in the Yonge and Gerrard neighbourhood.

Flint Strong

Another feature film in town this March is Flint Strong. The movie will star Ryan Destiny as the main character, and is being directed by Rachel Morrison, best known for her cinematography work on the movie Mudbound. Flint Strong is based around a boxing documentary called T-Rex, and will follow the life of a young girl determined to be the first to win a gold medal for Olympic boxing.

Sex/Life – Season 1

A new drama-comedy series, Sex/Life is filming in Toronto this month. Starring Sarah Shahi, production is expected to continue into the summertime for the eight episode series that will eventually stream on Netflix.

The Handmaid’s Tale – Season 4

The Handmaid’s Tale is back on location in Toronto this March for the fourth season of the hit show. Starring Elisabeth Moss, Alexis Bedel, Yvonne Strahovski, Joseph Fiennes, and others, the series is based on the bestselling novel by Margaret Atwood.

See – Season 2

Starring Jason Momoa, See is on location in Toronto till July to shoot its second season. The series first season was previously filmed in British Columbia, and is expected to be filming in Ontario into the summertime.

American Gods – Season 3

American Gods will wrap up production of its third season this March. Based on the 2001 novel by Neil Gaiman, the show will be on location until March giving you plenty of time to catch it in action this month.
