However, this wasn’t the only fatal shooting in Mississauga on Tuesday evening.
According to police, a second shooting occurred just two hours after the drive-by, in which a man was fatally shot while sitting in a car near Square One.
Following both incidents, Mississauga Mayor, Bonnie Crombie, said she’s “appalled” by the brazen shootings that took place overnight.
“This violence has no place in our City. It’s why I continue to call on senior levels of government to deliver funding to tackle the issue of guns & gangs and the root causes,” she said in a tweet Wednesday morning.
She also urged area residents to contact police if they had any dashcam or cellphone footage of the shooting.
If you have any information or dash cam/cell footage , I urge you to please contact @PeelPolice. Thank you to @PeelPolice, @MississaugaFES, @ParamedicAssoc for swiftly responding to the scene.
