The wait is finally over, after months of anticipation, Japanese retail giant MINISO is set to open its first Ontario location at Pickering Town Centre on Saturday, October 21.

This will be the brand’s seventh store in Canada, as part of the brand’s aggressive expansion plans across Canada.

“Pickering Town Centre is thrilled to welcome MINISO to our growing community. There is no store like it in the GTA, and we are excited to be the first to open — and shop — the new Ontario location,” says Lorna Murphy, Marketing Director, Pickering Town Centre.

The lifestyle brand is known for offering shoppers high-quality products and cost-efficient prices. Typical stocked items include everything from electronics and cosmetics to home furnishings and kitchenware.

“It’s no doubt going to be an extremely valuable addition for our customers as another way to shop ‘In Town’ at PTC just in time for the busy holiday shopping season.”

MINISO is just one of the many retailers to set up shop at Pickering Town Centre in the past year. Jack Astors, Pickle Barrel, Farm Boy and Saks OFF 5th are a few of the big names to open up, in addition to the launch of a new Cineplex VIP theatre in early 2018.

After its first wave of expansions into Ontario, MINISO will open locations in Montreal and will continue to expand across the country at a rate of dozens of new stores each year, with as many as 50 stores over the coming 12 months.
