Japanese-designed lifestyle brand MINISO is opening a brand new store in downtown Vancouver on Granville Street between Dunsmuir and Pender.

The highly-anticipated grand opening at 550 Granville Street is slated for Saturday, August 12, and will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, musical performances, and complimentary sweet treats.

Covering 4,900 square feet, the store will allow Vancouverites to shop for sleek, high quality, and affordable items like digital accessories, beauty products, and stationary.

MINISO’s downtown store will be the first of three new retail units in the Metro Vancouver area. Later this month, a store will open in Richmond at 8010 Saba Road and another location will be setting up at the SFU Burnaby campus, at 8920 University High Street.

Co-founded in 2013 by Japanese designer Miyake Junya and Chinese entrepreneur Ye Guofu, MINISO sticks to the philosophy of “simplicity, nature, and good quality,” dedicating itself to providing customers with high quality products that are competitively priced.

MINISO is now a successful brand around the world and it has in excess of 1,000 stores operating in more than 40 countries.

Here’s a look at the variety of MINISO products you can expect to find when the new store opens.
