Mini outdoor chalets are popping up in the Distillery District this month.

The initiative is in collaboration with Pure Spirits Oyster Bar, and is part of the neighbourhood’s new Winter Village experience.

The 13 chalets are set to open in late November and will feature a special menu of cozy Canadian classics as well as a full-service bar, according to the restaurant’s website.

Reservations must be made online in advance.

With the annual Christmas Market cancelled due to COVID-19, the Winter Village brings a new holiday experience to the Distillery District.

Featuring starlit canopies, a 44-foot Christmas tree, and seasonal music, it’s a festive addition to the historic neighbourhood.

The massive tree, adorned with 60,800 lights, 500 oversized decorations, and 1,463 metres of gold garland, will be lit nightly until January 10, 2021.

According to the event’s website, safety measures have been implemented throughout, including signs that promote physical distancing, increased cleaning, regular use of medical-grade cleaning products, and hand sanitizing stations.

While there is no official date for the mini chalets, the Winter Village is open now until March 31, 2021.

Note: While local parks, shops, and outdoor dining spaces are reopened, Toronto Public Health is reminding individuals to monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. And if you’re not feeling well, they recommend staying home at this time. If you decide to go out, maintain the six-feet physical distancing guidelines.
