Minami Toronto opens massive heated downtown patio

Mar 31 2021, 4:45 pm

After having opened its first Toronto location last winter, unable to welcome guests indoors, Minami has now opened its outdoor patio.

Launched at the height of the pandemic, the contemporary Japanese restaurant has joined several other restaurants in the city in opening its patio as of March 31.

According to the restaurant, Minami’s patio will have a capacity of 60 and increase to 101 once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

“We have gone to extraordinary lengths to ensure a safe and pleasant dining experience,” said Dean Harrison, National Marketing Director for Aburi Restaurants Canada.

“We are capping reservations at no more than 4 people per table, from the same household, intermingling between tables is strictly prohibited, and all guests will provide contact info via a QR code upon arrival.”

Rine or shine, the patio is equipped with all the essentials, including tents, heaters, and blankets.

According to Minami, they hold “stringent” COVID-19 precautionary measures and protocols to ensure the highest standard of safety for staff and guests.

Minami Toronto, 225 King St West, marks its seventh location across the country for Aburi Restaurants Canada.

It offers “one of the most unique and innovative dining experiences in the highly competitive culinary district in downtown Toronto,” according to a press release.

“By taking core concepts from sister restaurant Minami Yaletown in Vancouver, and infusing inspiration from Toronto’s local culture, the restaurant will showcase memorable and unique culinary and cocktail offerings.”

Reservations can be made on OpenTable. Delivery or takeout is also available via Uber Eats, Ritual, and Tock.
