Matcha Stand Maiko reveals it's opening a store in Toronto

Matcha lovers in Toronto are in for a treat, because a new spot to get behind this flavour craze is opening in 2019.

Matcha Stand Maiko hails from Hawaii and operates four locations across the US where it serves customers coffees, drinks, desserts, treats, and matcha imported from Uji, Kyoto.

Maiko aims to offer customers an authentic taste of Japan using matcha from the Harima Garden in Uji, which has been in operation since 1858.

The brand has some serious expansion plans in the works, including several new outposts in the US, a China location, and two Canadian stores as well.

One of those locations will be in Richmond, BC and the other is slated to open in Toronto, ON – although no address has been released yet.

Maiko specializes in house-made dishes such as parfaits, shaved ice, floats, and lattes, all made with its rich-tasting matcha.

Matcha Stand Maiko is slated to open in Richmond early this spring, and the Toronto outpost should be opening sometime in 2019.
