21 marvellous March food events to check out in Toronto

Believe it or not, warm weather is on the way. And to welcome it, Toronto’s got a broad selection of food events running this month that are offering up high spring vibes.

We’re talking maple syrup festivals, brunch events, and, of course, plenty of beer.

Here’s what’s going on in Toronto’s food and drink scene this month.

Disco Brunch

“Wake up and get down” at this groovy brunch party in Kensington Market. Featuring drink specials ($6 mimosas and bellinis, and $5 Steam Whistles,) and a build-your-own-Caesar bar, the event will offer a brunch menu by Chen Chen’s Hot Chicken. Doors open at 10:30 am, and your $10 ticket includes 1 free drink ticket. Capacity is limited so arrive early.

Enjoy the final day this year that the iconic Distillery District Mexican joint opens its patio to those looking to combine brunch foods with an adventurous experience. The Night Baker, located at 825 College Street, will be offering up their freshly baked cookies, free of charge, in honour of its birthday celebration on March 1. The Wizard’s Beer Festival

Wizard’s Beer Festival

Being held at 1 Adelaide Street’s CRAFT Beer Market, the magical event will bring on-site entertainment, tarot card readers, wand-making classes, and plenty of brews to CRAFT Beer Market on March 1 from 11 am to 8 pm. Tickets, available online now for $45, include a 12 oz welcome beer, plus five tokens that will give you access to various drink and activity stations.

Ricarda’s Kitchen Party

Brewchella

This Beer and Beverage Festival will offer the chance to sample sips and bites from local breweries. Anticipate menu favourites, spirits, wine, cocktails, live entertainment, and more than 20 new beers added onto the line-up of the 100 already on tap.

Society of Beer Drinking Ladies International Women’s Day

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Society of Beer Drinking Ladies will be throwing a bash at Granite Brewery — helmed by female brewmaster, Mary Beth Keefe, the craft brewpub is her family’s original space. From each ticket sale, $10 will go towards SISTERING. The event will feature a $5 snack menu, DJ tunes, a raffle, an artisan market, and your first beer is included in the ticket price. Note: this event isn’t solely for women — everyone (of legal age) is welcome.
