Inside Toronto’s new women-only co-sharing workspace

It’s not just the tables filled with women of varying professional backgrounds collaborating and working together that will catch your attention.

After growing frustrated with dodgy Wi-Fi at local coffee shops while working as a freelancer, Rachel Kelly had an idea.

A lemon of an idea, if you will.

This idea was Make Lemonade, a female-focused co-sharing workspace, that’s not only absolutely Insta-worthy, it’s bringing together driven women in all fields of business.

“I created Make Lemonade because as a freelancer, the struggle of not having a home base was real,” says Kelly. “I was tired of hopping from coffee shop to coffee shop with dodgy Wi-Fi and limited seating. My mission was to create an office space that lived inside my imagination.”

Located in the heart of  Toronto’s downtown core, the 3,000 sq. ft-space was designed by MMNT Design and features walls adorned with murals, palm print wallpaper, and colourful accents – giving those who work there serious doses of inspiration.

Located at 326 Adelaide Street West, the stunning space features several working spaces from hot desks and phone booths to a private boardroom and even an indoor patio where Kelly plans to host various activities – from networking events to members only movie nights.

Despite branding itself as a women’s only space, Kelly says everyone is welcome and Make Lemonade is thrilled to let members bring their male-identified colleagues for a pop in and/or meetings and events.
