Multiple Line 1 subway stations will be closed this weekend

If you have plans to travel on the TTC this weekend, take note — several subway stations will be closed on Saturday.

On Saturday, May 16, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Lawrence West and St Clair West stations to accommodate track work.

Replacement shuttle buses will run throughout the closure, stopping at each station along the route. Also, TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station.

The Yonge side of Line 1 will be available as an alternative route, in addition to the shuttles.

Glencairn and Eglinton West stations will be completely closed, while all other stations will remain open for PRESTO fare sales and access to surface routes.

Anyone who requires Wheel-Trans service can speak with a service staff member for assistance.

“While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and ATC upgrades,” the transit agency said.

For the most up-to-date information on service frequency and changes, keep an eye on the TTC’s Twitter account.
