Toronto Maple Leafs superstar William Nylander is giving fans a peek behind the curtain with his very own YouTube channel.

With the new season right around the corner, Nylander announced that he is launching a YouTube channel, which aims to give fans an inside look at his day-to-day life as an NHL player.

The 29-year-old Swede debuted the channel with a 30-second short fittingly set to “Race My Mind” by Drake.

“I’m William Nylander and I decided to start a YouTube channel so you guys can follow me around, and see what my life is like,” Nylander said in the video.

Clips shown throughout the video feature Nylander sharing drinks with friends, practicing on a rink, meeting up with fans, and taking in a soccer game. It sets the channel up to seemingly be less about his hockey career and more about what he does between playing games for the Maple Leafs.

The channel was created earlier this month on Sept. 12, with the video being posted on Thursday morning. Over 2,800 people have already subscribed to the channel.

It’s about to be a different-feeling season for Toronto hockey fans after the departure of Mitch Marner in free agency. Nylander is now the undisputed second-best player on the team behind Auston Matthews.

The Swedish star signed an eight-year, $92-million extension with the Maple Leafs in 2024, making him among the highest-paid players in the NHL. In the first year of that deal last season, Nylander put up 45 goals and 84 points in 82 games.

It’s not usual to see star players like Nylander willingly allow fans to take a peek at their personal lives. As the season progresses and he adds more videos to the channel, it’ll be interesting to see how much he reveals in this new project.

We will have to wait and see how active he will be on the channel.
