Toronto Maple Leafs tickets went on sale and fans are blown away at the prices

If you’re looking to get to a Toronto Maple Leafs game this season, be prepared to hold back on rent or groceries for a few months.

Okay, the prices might not beĀ that bad, but it’s definitely one of the more expensive ways to spend a night out in the city.

On Wednesday, Leafs tickets for the regular season went on sale, with fans around the GTA looking to get their hands on whatever they could snag.

But as anticipated, the whole experience mostly led to a lot of exasperated reactions like the one below.

Leafs tickets have never been known to be cheap, and it doesn’t seem like they’ll exactly be dropping in value anytime soon.

Based on social media posts, it seems like the biggest game of interest is on Jan. 23 when Mitch Marner and his new Vegas Golden Knights team come to town.

But if you want to get in the door for that one, it might cost you upwards of $500 a ticket after fees.

So how much do Leafs tickets actually cost?

While going into the ins and outs of all 41 home games is a little repetitive, we dove into a smattering of prices against different opponents and on different days of the week to compare what the differences are.

Here’s the cheapest ticket currently listed on Ticketmaster for a non-obstructed, non-standing room ticket for seven different games.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 8 vs. Montreal (home opener): $360.30
  • Saturday, Oct. 18 vs. Seattle: $171.85
  • Saturday, Dec. 6 vs. Montreal: $336.75
  • Friday, Jan. 23 vs. Vegas: $421.75
  • Tuesday, Jan. 27 vs. Buffalo: $146.10
  • Friday, March 20 vs. Carolina: $242.55
  • Wednesday, March 25 vs. New York Rangers: $171.85

As mentioned above, the game against the Golden Knights in January appears to be the most expensive of the bunch.

With such a high interest in seeing the Leafs, you can’t even put your name on the waiting list for season tickets right now. The Leafs averaged a sellout crowd last season, selling 18,829 tickets a night per Hockeydb.com.

“Due to overwhelming demand, we are not actively adding people to the Toronto Maple Leafs Waitlist,” a page on the Leafs’ website reads.
