Mitch Marner links up with old Toronto Maple Leafs teammates for summer hangouts

Mitch Marner may no longer be a part of the Toronto Maple Leafs, but that doesn’t mean the connections he formed during his time with the organization have gone by the wayside.
The current Vegas Golden Knights star took to social media for a bit of a summer photo dump, and shared pics hanging out alongside former Leafs teammates in Zach Bogosian and Joe Thornton.

Marner also shared a few photos with his wife, Stephanie, and his newborn son, Miles, his dog Zeus, as well as a few other friends around the golf course and the dock of a cottage.
Thornton and Bogosian both played for Toronto in the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 season, and clearly made a strong connection with Marner during their short time with the franchise.
Marner, meanwhile, had spent his whole professional career with the Leafs since being taken fourth overall in the 2015 draft, putting up 741 points in the process.
“I think my whole mindset, the whole time I was in Toronto, was that it would be tough to leave Toronto,” Marner said at his introductory press conference in Vegas last month after being sent there in a sign-and-trade deal. “To be honest, I didn’t ever think it would come to that day.”
“To the fans: thank you. Playing in Toronto is special because of you. Over the last nine seasons, I have felt it all: the passion, the pride, the hope, the pressure, and the support. You care deeply, and never took that for granted,” he wrote. “To my teammates, coaches, trainers, the equipment and medical staff, team services, PR staff, and everyone behind the scenes who keep things running, thank you. I’m grateful for every conversation, moment of support, and every bit of belief you showed me along the way.”
