Scarborough LCBO employee tests positive for coronavirus

An employee at a Scarborough LCBO location has tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

According to the LCBO, employers were notified on September 4 that an employee at the 510 Brimley Road location in Scarborough had tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee had last worked in-store on September 2.

The location had closed for deep cleaning and reopened on September 5.

“Although no close contacts have been identified, employees will continue to self-monitor for symptoms. Public Health has not provided any directions or recommendations with respect to this location. This general notice is being provided out of transparency,”  said the LCBO.

“The LCBO has several measures to keep employees and customers safe, including regular cleaning and sanitization and in-store measures that promote physical distancing.”

LCBO has mandated face coverings for customers since July 7.

A Toronto LCBO employee tested positive for COVID-19 a few weeks prior to this Scarborough case.

According to the LCBO, employers were notified on August 27 that an employee at the 2803 Dundas Street West location had tested positive for COVID-19

The employee had last worked in-store on August 13.

Last week, a Food Basics employee in Hamilton had tested positive for the virus as well, adding to the growing list of cases found in local grocery stores in and around Toronto.
