More Toronto LCBO employees test positive for COVID-19

Seven LCBO locations in Toronto and across the GTA have reported employees testing positive for COVID-19 in the last few days.

According to the LCBO, on December 11, four stores reported cases among their staff.

An employee at the 1115 Lodestar Road location tested positive for COVID-19 and had last worked on December 2.

Another employee, this time at 502 Lawrence Avenue West, tested positive for the virus and had last worked on December 6.

In Vaughan, an LCBO located at 8260 ON-27 Highway 27 and Innovation Drive reported an employee testing positive for the virus. They had last worked on December 6.

In Brampton, at 11785 Bramalea Road, an employee tested positive for the virus and had last worked on December 7.

The LCBO reported another three cases on December 14.

An employee at 7850 Weston Road tested positive for a virus. They had last worked on December 6.

In Etobicoke, an employee at the 662 Burnhamthorpe Road location tested positive for COVID-19. They had last worked on December 6.

Another employee, this time at the 1339 Lawrence Avenue West location, tested positive for the virus. They had last worked on December 10.

All affected employees are currently self-isolating at home.

“This general notice is being provided out of transparency. Should we receive any Public Health direction or guidance, we will act immediately and accordingly,” said the LCBO in a release.

“The LCBO has several measures to keep employees and customers safe, including regular cleaning and sanitization, and in-store measures that promote physical distancing.”

Several positive cases have also been reported at grocery stores around Toronto and the GTA.
