Now that most of Ontario is practicing social distancing, many wondered if the LCBO would remain open.

And for now, the answer is still yes.

According to a statement from the LCBO on March 13, its stores remain open.

“The health and well-being of LCBO customers, staff and partners is our top priority. While we are always committed to providing safe shopping experiences, we are implementing measures to support the communities in which we live and work during this important time,” said the statement.

The LCBO is also taking additional safety measures, such as increasing hand sanitizers for its customers and employees in stores, as well as suspending in-store tastings and events until the end of April.

“LCBO stores remain open for business and we are proactively planning for increased demand,” said the LCBO. “Customers may also choose to shop online and pick-up in store, or have orders delivered directly to their homes through next-day delivery or on demand delivery through Foodora.”

They also advise that over the course of any busy period, customers may see fluctuations in product selection.

“We will continue to closely monitor the situation and operate responsibly, adjust quickly and as needed, all with the health and safety of our employees and customers top of mind.”

At this time, The Beer Store also remains open across the province.

“Currently, our stores remain open for business, however, it’s important that our customers be made aware of our procedures and commitment to health and safety, therefore we will provide further updates as required,” said The Beer Store.
