This Toronto barista makes the coolest latte art (VIDEO)

Dec 9 2016, 3:35 am

A latte is a thing of beauty, especially in Toronto where coffee culture is booming and baristas are continually perfecting their craft and upping their game.

Already available, 3D printed coffees and cute cartoon cappucinos. Even psychedelic rainbow microfoam made a brief appearance on the scene earlier this year.

My new favourite latte artist in town is Brian Leonard, the “rockstar barista” currently slinging hot drinks for hire at events and with Toronto partners Tokyo Smoke and Calii Love.

His Instagram feed documents lattes made over the past two years but the barista has really hit his stride in the last half of 2016 with the introduction of colour to his creations.

In recent months he’s continued to develop his own distinct aesthetic while also delighting coffee drinkers.

Now, he’s onto his next artistic exploration which is more about the appearance than taste. He’s started skipping the espresso all together and experimenting with highly saturated colours in pure steamed milk. The results are rather beautiful.

Let’s just collectively drool for a sec k?
