Krispy Kreme is opening a new location in one of Toronto's busiest neighbourhoods

Krispy Kreme is gearing up to open a brand-new Toronto location in the heart of one of the city’s most popular neighbourhoods.
To echo the immortal (well, on the internet anyway) words of American comedian Annie Korzen: “Have you ever had a Krispy Kreme? Was it crispy? Was it creamy?”
She raises a good point. The donuts at the lauded international chain can scarcely be described as either crispy or particularly creamy, save for those that are filled with whipped cream, but that doesn’t make them any less delicious.
You see, in a city that has no shortage of exceptional artisanal donut shops, the donuts at Krispy Kreme just kind of seem to be their own thing entirely.
While you could likely only eat a maximum of one donut from Toronto shops like Bloomer’s or Dipped Donuts in one sitting, you could easily put away at least three airy Krispy Kreme confections in one go.
What we’re trying to say is, if donuts were candy, they’d be Krispy Kreme Original Glazed.
It should come as no surprise, then, that Toronto’s several Krispy Kreme locations have remained heavily attended ever since the chain’s first international expansion saw a location land in Mississauga back in 2001.
Since then, the chain has grown its Toronto footprint to include nine locations in the city, and, as of Wednesday, Aug. 27, that number is set to grow to 10, when their latest “donut cafe” opens in the heart of a buzzy neighbourhood.
Coming very, very soon: Krispy Kreme College and Ossington.
Sure, Little Italy may be better known for its independent and fine-dining eateries, but who’s to say that a little Krispy Kreme after dinner at the hottest-new-restaurantĀ du jour wouldn’t make for the perfect bow to tie up a night on the town?

The new location officially opens for business at 8 a.m., and the first 12 guests in line will walk away with a special Golden Ticket that allows them to pick up a dozen free Original Glazed doughnuts every month for an entire year.
Doesn’t get much sweeter than that, does it?
Krispy Kreme operates Toronto locations in Scarborough, Bloor West Village, Etobicoke, Moss Park, The Annex, Harbord Village and Kensington Market, and on Queen West and Danforth.
