Katz’s Deli will be shuttering its doors today, after 49 years of serving delicious food to the neighbourhood.

Fans of the deli have been flocking towards it for the last week, even more than usual. Everyone is eager to get their fill of sandwiches, slaw, and matzo ball soup.

There’s no word on the eatery opening up a new location, and even if we are so lucky, there’s something special about the original spot.
And yes, you can order from the famed Katz’s in NYC… but it’s crushing to lose a local love.

For their last Friday, Katz’s is open until 6 pm.
