John Tory releases statement on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
March 21 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
And to honour the day, Toronto Mayor John Tory has released a statement in which he addresses racism in the city.
“Unfortunately, the past few months have seen a rise in the number of acts of discrimination and discord based on race, religion or nationality,” he said. “Our values as Torontonians are shared and they are clear. Discrimination is not a part of who we are and we must spare no effort to make sure that is always the case, today and every day.”
