The Toronto Blue Jays made sure to properly celebrate after clinching the AL East Division on Sunday afternoon.

It marked the second time the Blue Jays have had a champagne-filled clubhouse celebration this season, with the other coming just over a week ago after they had first secured a playoff berth.

Sunday’s 13-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays helped the Blue Jays clinch their first division title since 2015. They rightfully celebrated the big accomplishment, but first came a fantastic speech from manager John Schneider.

“For everyone in here, congratulations. That’s a 20-win turnaround from last year to this year, and it’s because of every single one of you guys here,” Schneider said. “You guys are unbelievable, you’re selfless, I say it all the time. And I said, ‘the sky’s not f*cking falling,’ and guess what? It f*cking didn’t.

“You guys kept going about it; you did it the right way. Some people say we did it the hard way, but we did it our f*cking way. Let’s keep going!”

The champagne was popped immediately afterward for a Jays team that, after hitting a bump in the road the past few weeks, was able to end the regular season with a crucial four-game winning streak.

“We believe in each other,” Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said to Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae. “I said it four days ago. We took it one day at a time, and thank God we did it… I believe in God, and to me, that’s God. You see… last year, nobody talked about us. This year, nobody talked about us, and we took the division. To me, that’s God’s plan.”

After taking some time to celebrate in the clubhouse, the Jays went back onto the field to ring in the accomplishment with several fans who remained in their seats at Rogers Centre.

Thanks to claiming the division title, the Blue Jays have advanced through the wild-card stage and will head straight ot the ALDS. They will await a wild-card series between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees to determine who they will face as they look to put together a World Series run.
