IKEA to serve up special Chinese New Year offerings in January

Jan 7 2020, 8:23 pm

IKEA is the gift that keeps on giving.

As if we need another reason to head to our favourite Swedish furniture store, the chain is officially hosting some Chinese New Year celebrations later this month.

IKEA North York, Etobicoke, and Vaughan will each be offering special menu items to welcome the Year of the Rat.

At the North York location, from January 23 to 30, look forward to sweet and sour chicken served with a spring roll, rice and mixed veg, all for $8.88. The same deal will be on at the Etobicoke store, but the date range is yet to be determined.

In Vaughan, where the dates are also still undecided, you’ll be able to choose between the aforementioned sweet and sour chicken, or pork spare rib, alongside a spring roll and mixed veg, for the same price.

Even though Etobicoke and Vaughan haven’t confirmed all their dates yet, they guarantee the specials will be available on January 25. Check out your nearest location’s website for more details.

And in addition to the food specials, IKEA North York will host a Traditional Lion Dance throughout the store on January 25 and 26. The celebrations will begin at the store’s main entrance at 5 pm on Saturday and 1 pm on Sunday.
