An incredible harvest moon is set to rise over Toronto tomorrow

Oct 4 2017, 8:15 pm

Get your cameras ready Toronto, there’s going to be a spectacular harvest moon rising over the city.

Tomorrow evening when the sun sets, Toronto skies will be lit up with an incredibly bright harvest moon, that will illuminate the sky and give everyone who’s watching a free outdoor show. The moon will become visible mid-afternoon on October 5, peaking around 7:13 pm.

As a symbol of the changing seasons, the celestial phenomenon features a lower-hanging moon on the horizon, making it easier for us to view (given that there are clear skies, of course).

And luckily for Toronto, tomorrow’s weather forecast is predicting fairly clear skies for tomorrow evening, giving us nice moon gazing weather.

If you happen to miss this evening’s spectacle, you’re in luck as the next full moons in October, November, and December will all be supermoons, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to catch a glimpse of one of these beauties.

For optimal viewing, find a park or another spot outside the city limits in order to have enough darkness and be prepared to be amazed.
